Congratulations to Post 27 who leads the District at 120.161%. Well done to Commander Fred Miley and your team for this achievement. Well done Commander Badger Moring and Commander Ray Roby and your membership teams for achieving (110.00% and 101.205% respectively. I thank all District 4 Posts who are making every effort to keep up and move ahead of the goal dates.

As of today, District 4 is in 5th place at 84.86%, that’s 3.92% and behind 1st place District 6th and down from 5th place since the last report period.. The gap to first place climbed a bit so let’s strengthen our resolve to work together a little harder to close the gap. I offered some suggestions in the last Bulletin – please refer to that issue for ways to get new members.

The 80% Department of Florida goal is January 4th – not far away. The job gets harder as the percentage increases so we need to get ahead of these goal benchmarks to make the next level easier to reach. Again, if there is something the District staff can do to help, please let me know. The current Membership status by Post as of December 20th is presented below.

Legion Post #27 is moving after 86 years!

American Legion Ocala Post #27 is moving out of the building they constructed in 1933. It is sad to leave our home after 86 years of fantastic memories. Think of all the World War II dances held to boost troop morale and raise funds to wage the war. The American Legion Building was the very first building constructed in Tuscawilla Park, which is just two blocks from Downtown Ocala. While we are sad to leave, we are equally excited about the advantages that the new building will offer. We firmly believe that the advantages outweigh the loss of our old building. Here are the advantages: PARKING - The City is building a parking lot that will hold approximately 40 to 50 cars, plus an additional 14 near the building for people with disabilities. If that weren't enough, the County Health Department has signed an agreement that allows us to use up to 30 of their parking spots near our building. That gives us the ability to park nearly 100 cars for any of our programs or meeting...
